Plus Size Fashion Freedom!

Posted by admin On February - 11 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Just ten years ago plus size women were limited to clothes shopping in the two back corner racks of the local department store. We didn’t have a lot of selection in style and fit and really–we didn’t enjoy shopping for ourselves all that much. It’s hard feeling good about a wardrobe full of cartoon character t-shirts and too short stretchy pants, and it was disappointing to shop for more of the same.

Our choices in fashion were basic polyester stretch pants (remember those thick elastic waistbands ladies?), plain oversize t-shirts, and flowing, flowery polyester house dresses. Anything that was somewhat nice was stocked in limited quantities and at an exorbitant price.

Ladies we felt & looked frumpy and dowdy because that’s all we had to wear!

Today however, full figured women can now enjoy trendy and comfortable fashions–at prices most can afford. And with easy online access, we are no longer limited to what the local department stores choose for us. We can choose from denims, cottons, silks & satins. Flower prints, stripes, solids and polka dots. Well fitted career wear, two piece bathing suits, short pants, long pants–the sky is the limit and we have more choices than ever before.

Want to wear a fun, flirty skirt? Or a trendy tanktini on that fabulous beach holiday? No problem! It’s just a click away online. Your biggest dilemma will be choosing just one item out of the three or four that have caught your eye. What a shift from ten years ago!

Plus Size Clothes Shopping Tools

Today shopping for trendy plus size clothing that fits well and looks great is easier than ever before. Clothing designers and merchants have finally discovered the huge market full figured women have to offer. We want stylish and comfortable clothing – and we are willing to pay for it.

Fabric choices, slimming cuts & shimmering glamor are available to us in abundance, but how to choose the best fit and most flattering size when shopping online? Trying clothes on before we buy is not an option.

But the good news is that as online shoppers, we have two very handy tools at our disposal:

Sizing Charts & Refund Policies

You will find plenty of websites online specializing in ladies plus size fashions. Before adding anything to your shopping cart (also called shopping bag or basket), check out the sizing chart on site. You will usually find this linked to in the same spot where you choose the size, quantity and color of the item to add to your shopping cart. If it is not there, look in the main menu navigation bar.

You will find that most stores offer sizing that is true to offline department store sizing. So if you are normally a size 2X, you should find that size fits the same when shopping online.

Paint a Picture with Sexy Lingerie

Posted by admin On January - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Here’s a secret for all the women out there (if they haven’t figured it out already): men are visual creatures. Just like there are verbal learners and visual learners, all the men out there sometimes need for you to paint them a picture in order to better understand a task. Here’s proof to this revelation: how often have you told your husband that the car is making a “thumping” noise. Does he ever believe you? Probably not, until he sees for himself that the cause of whatever is making the car thump. See, visual learner. The same goes in the bedroom. Sometimes, our men don’t quite understand what we want, so we have to paint them a picture, and we can do so with deliciously sexy lingerie.

How many men can resist a woman in any type of sexy lingerie? There is something about lace, ribbons, feathers, leather, or not-so-subtle sheer material that drives a man wild. And honestly, who can blame him? Who doesn’t look fabulous is oh-so-sexy lingerie? The answer is no one. Regardless how you feel about your body, sexy lingerie is the best way to begin loving yourself again (and maybe even get some loving in the process). After all, if women do not feel feminine in sexy lingerie, why do we purchase these fantastic frocks instead of the ubiquitous underwear? The truth very well may be that women love sexy lingerie just as much as men.

Outside factors can play a huge part in your sex life, including your job and responsibilities. Just because the spark may be hidden beneath a bundle of problems, stresses, and worries does not mean that it has gone out! People are too easy consumed with their problems to take the hints dropped by another individual about meeting their needs. Instead of dropping hints or becoming aggravated when your partner seems to blatantly ignore your specific needs, send him a visual message. Dress up in a drop dead gorgeous baby doll and meet him at the door. It’s guaranteed to send him over the edge.

Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez was born in New Jersey in 1961 to Cuban parents. He studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, and upon graduation worked for designers such as Anne Klein, TSE, and Calvin Klein. His parents were not overly happy that Narciso choose fashion as his career. They would have much rather seen him in something more serious such as architecture.

Whether on the runway or on the red carpet, designer Narciso Rodriguez is in demand. He began is designer career in 1985 as a design assistant for fashion legend Anne Klein. Narciso has a gift for fitting a dress so that it is flattering to the shape of the woman’s body. “It’s so fantastic,” Narciso says, “to create a frame for a woman’s personality and her true beauty.”

While working at Calvin Klein Narciso and Carolyn Bessette [later to become Carolyn Kennedy] became best friends. It was Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s wedding dress design that brought Narciso front and center stage in the design world. Narciso’s wedding dress design for Carolyn was the buzz around the world. On September 21, 1996, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy stepped out of church on the arm of John F. Kennedy Jr. Women went gaga, literally drooling over Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s wedding dress.

Carolyn’s wedding dress was made from pure white silk. This simple dress was combined dress elegance, classiness, and sexiness into one knockout package. Woman began to realize a wedding dress could in fact look sexy. This was a whole new concept, never heard of before. For years most women had landed up looking like an overstuffed pilsbury dough boy on their wedding day. Narciso had accomplished in Carolyn’s wedding gown what women thought to be impossible. She had been transformed into this bewitching sexy princess. That look was created by one of her best friends, Narciso Rodriguez. It was Carolyn’s wedding dress that made Narciso’s a household name.

Once word got out who had designed the dress, Narciso was in demand by every major designer in the world. A dream came true when Narciso joined the house of LMVH. The draw back to this career move was that Narciso spent his life living out of a suitcase with very little time to spend with family and friends which he valued and missed dearly.
Narciso pressed on encouraged by the idea that he had finally “made it.” However, working for a large company can often stifle ones own independent design ideas, and it wasn’t long before Narciso discovered he no longer loved his work.
The turning point in his life was when Carolyn Bessette Kennedy was was killed in a plane accident. Narciso had lost one of his dearest and best friends and for him this was a reality check and a wake up call.. Life without friends, family and the love of his work didn’t seem like such a great opportunity anymore. Narciso left LVMH and came home realizing what he needed was the freedom of his own design collection.
Narciso was able to focus on his own line of clothing creating the perfect look for woman. Rather than designing dresses for matchsticks, Narciso’s designs accentuated the curves and bustline of the woman, creating what was called a real woman design. Narciso Latin background came through in his designs with each having a hint of Latin flare. Narciso said Latino women had figures and were proud of that fact so they were perfect for where he wanted to go with his designs.
