Did you ever get a blob of white sauce fall on smack in the middle of your black silk tie? Mustard parted ways with your hotdog to land on the most visible part of your favorite maroon tie? Of course white goes well with black and yellow with red, but its an unwanted decoration on your tie. All you need to do is follow simple cleaning tricks to ensure that you always have a clean tie to wear, without buying a new tie every time.

The tie can be sent for dry cleaning for professional help. Silk ties pose more of a problem as dry cleaning them tends to rob them off the color and sheen. Dry cleaning removes most stains but can sometimes worsen them too, or cause the tie to lose some of it’s original color all over or in the stained area. Make sure that you inform the dry cleaner about the origin of the stain so it can be treated with specific stain removers.

If the tie is of lesser value than the dry cleaning and you wish to keep the tie, you can try these stain removal tips. These methods work most of the time but not with every stain.

To remove a stain, never rub it. Gently dab it with a clean towel, napkin or cloth. Rubbing will spread the stain.

Do not wash the silk tie with water to remove the stain, the original stain will go but you will wind up with a larger water stain.

If it is a butter or grease stain, liberally sprinkle talcum powder on the stain and leave overnight. The powder will absorb the grease and you can then brush it with a clean towel or cloth. A heavily stained tie may require you to repeat the above steps more than once.

If your silk tie has had an accident with a sauce, ink, juice, coffee, etc., then blot the stain immediately with a clean towel or napkin. Do not scrub as it will spread the stain. Later, purchase a good stain remover which is specific for the reason of the stain. Test the remover on the back part of the tie before using it on the stain. Follow the instructions on the stain remover. This will remove many stains.

For more difficult stains, you will need to first use a mild stain remover to pretreat the stain. Work the remover into the fabric, by delicately rubbing it on the stain for a minute or so. Prepare a cool water bath with a mild detergent and gently move the tie in this solution for about 5 minutes. Completely rinse out the detergent with cool water. Do not wring the tie.

Now prepare another solution with white vinegar (1/4 cup) and cool water (3-5 gallons). Give the tie a final rinse in this vinegar solution. Do not wring out the tie. The fabric may even show a puckering. Flatten a clean dry towel and lay the tie without stretching on the towel. Now, loosely roll up the towel. Leave it rolled up for 12-24 hours. Now roll up the tie in another dry towel. Unroll after one day and you will get a clean, shiny, and well-shaped tie.

These are not guaranteed stain removal methods, but they are worth a try when it’s a choice between cleaning the stain and buying a new tie.

One thing many ladies love about shopping online is the wide variety of dresses that are available. If you live in an area where there aren’t many places to shop, then online shopping might be your ticket to finding hot new dresses that fit your style – and your body type.

Many online shoppers have abandoned the garage sales and turned to convenient Internet shopping to find great deals on dresses, lingerie, evening wear and more! You too can find almost any dress style, size, color and material online, and usually at a tremendous discount.

Instead of searching desperately through endless racks of clothes that aren’t even your size, you can find specific dress styles and sizes with the simple click of a mouse! But first, you must know how to shop online. Here are some excellent pointers to finding that perfect dress with the style and price you want.

Find Dresses through Online Searches

If you already know what type of dress you want, you can narrow your search through the search engines by typing in specific keywords related to that dress style. For instance, if you want a large trapeze-style brown strapless dress, don’t only type the words “brown dress” into a search engine. You’ll get millions of results showing all types of brown dresses. Instead, type the entire phrase in quotes to get more specific results. If you want a small red stretch gown, type in the entire phrase in quotes.

Another way to do specific searches is to shop at an online mall for dresses and other ladies fashion items. Many “dress-shop” malls offer a variety of products including dresses, plus size fashions, lingerie, watches, shirts and skirts, underwear and thongs, Capri pants, denim wear, evening wear and more. Some malls even give tremendous deals and have special offers such as a “free panty with a dress purchase” or some other similar discount special.

Ordering the Right Dress – The First Time!

One problem that an online shopper faces when searching for great dresses is that, once dress arrives, she finds that it doesn’t fit right. Then, it’s a hassle to ship it back to the company or manufacturer if returns are accepted.

One solution is to take a few hours and visit the nearest department store in your area. Try on some dresses to find styles and sizes you like. Take note of the materials, sleeves, measurements, and sizes of the dresses as well. Even if the dress is high-priced at the store, you might be able to find the exact same style online at a much cheaper price. Doing this will save you time and money in the long run because you’ll know if you like the dress and style before ordering.

Gifts for the Holidays or Special Occasions

Another advantage of shopping online for dresses and other hot fashion items is you can also buy gifts for others at a great discount. Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, thank you gifts, etc. – there are gifts for every occasion. And, you’ll save time and money because you can shop from your own home any time of the day!

Using online resources to buy hot and fashionable dresses offers a great opportunity to find the styles and sizes you need without spending a fortune.

You are so excited. You thought this big event would never get here. Here it is only months away and now you have to choose the one prom dress that will make you look beautiful and feel confident. There are so many different styles and colors available in prom dresses. This is the reason you need to start shopping months before the big event.

Take the time to find out what style best suits you and your body shape. Find out what is popular this year. Trends change drastically every year and you want to be the new girl.

Before Shopping for 2007 Prom Dresses

It is always a good idea to look through up-to-date magazines such as Seventeen, Prom Magazine, and even bridal magazines. You would be surprised at the different fashions you will see and the great ideas from the models in these magazines. If a dress really catches your eye, tear out the page and take it with you when you go shopping for your gown.

Another timesaving step is to take your measurements before you go shopping. Jot down your height and weight. This will give you more time to look. This information will come in handy when you decide to go online and shop.

Knowing how much you have in your budget and which price range best suits you will also save you time.

Shopping for Your Gown

Once you have jotted down your measurements and have set your budget, it’s time for the fun part. SHOPPING!!!! Go to every dress shop that you can find in your area or you may have to shop out of town. Visiting different shops will give you an idea of what styles are available this year.

Try on several different dresses at each shop to help you determine what style and color suits you. If your budget is low, check out the outlet stores and thrift shops in your area. You may be surprised at the dresses carried by these shops. Bridal shops are also a great place to shop for your prom dress.

When choosing your prom dress, you want the dress that best suits your figure. Always buy a dress that fits you now. Do not buy a size smaller and hope that on prom night you can fit into the dress. When shopping for your prom dress, it is best to shop at stores where the employees can help you and give you advice if needed.

Bright, bold colors seem to be the trend at this time. These colors tend to be eye-catching and bring color to your face. Beads and jewels draw attention by catching the light on your gown.

Keep in mind your undergarments that you will need to purchase such as a strapless bra or corset. You may want to purchase these items before you shop for your dress so you will have them available when you try on gowns.

Remember, keep your options open. If you have shopped ’til you dropped and still have not found that dream dress for your 2007 prom, you can go to a tailor shop and have them design a dress just for you or surf online at your own convenience.

Replica products are great if you don’t want to spend lots of money on designer products. Replicas can be worn or used for work or play, and they often look and feel very similar to authentic designer items. There are replica handbags, replica watches (e.g. replica Rolex), replica jewelry, replica shoes, and many other items for the choosing. Unfortunately, all replica products are not created equal. These buying tips will help you determine if a replica is a high-quality item or if it should be avoided.

Do a Quality Check

Replica items should still be of exceptional quality even if they are “replicas.” If buying an item from a local store or outlet, look over the item carefully and ask questions about how it was made and what materials were used. If buying replicas online, look at photos and read the description carefully. If you’re not sure how an item was made, ask questions by email or live chat support.

For replica handbags, look for qualities such as strong stitching instead of glue for the inside lining, proper markings, designer stamps, and serial numbers, sturdy hardware, and leather or leather-like material. Replica watches should be made of strong, durable materials. They are often gold-plated, but will have high-quality features such as waterproof, scratch-resistant, and a cloth or leather strap.

With any replica item, compare it to the original. Though the two will never be completely identical, there should be very close similarities in all materials used and how it’s built. Compare a real Rolex watch to a replica Rolex. Compare a genuine Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 purse to a replica Speedy 30 purse. Compare an authentic Chanel handbag to the Chanel replica handbag.

Some replica websites claim A+ quality, but will try to pass off cheap materials so they can make more profit on each replica sold. Having A+ quality is important, but make sure what they are saying is true and that they will back it up with a guarantee.

On the Web – Buy Only from Reputable Replica Companies

Check out a website before you buy online to be sure the company carries a good reputation. You can search for the company name to see if other replica buyers have had a good experience, or you can also check with the Better Business Bureau online. Also, be sure to use a credit card to make your purchase. This will protect you from fraudulent online sellers. Look for a replica website with a good shopping system set-up and a professional design with photos and descriptions of their replica products.

Shipping for Replica Products

Make sure the company offers reliable shipping with online tracking and insurance options. Replica handbags can be expensive, anywhere from $100 to $400, so it’s a good idea to purchase shipping insurance in case your item gets lost or damaged in the mail. When you receive your item, examine it closely to be sure it is exactly as the company said, with no flaws.

Besides all these, use plain common sense when buying a replica handbag, watch, shoes, or other products. If the company seems to be anything less than trustworthy, then don’t take a chance – even if it means spending a little more on your replica products.

To find quality replica items, shop online at a store that specializes in world luxury replica products. These stores may offer replica handbags for brand names such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, MiuMiu, and many others. There are also Chanel wholesale products and replica Rolex, Omega, Cartier, and other watches. Also, there are hundreds of styles and colors to fit every occasion. Use these tips to find that perfect replica product today!

Cookie-cutter fashion handbags are a dime a dozen, and thousands of them are produced in factories and sold in every town. But handmade handbags are delightful, rare treasures that any woman can be proud of. When a handbag is handmade, it is unique in many ways and reflects the skill and creativity of its maker. Many women in Indonesia choose to hand-stitch handbags to earn a living for their families. Their handbags are beautifully embroidered with amazing designs, but yet they usually possess the same or better quality as any factory-made handbag.

If you’re just yearning to own an elaborate – but unusual – handbag, here are some great tips. Let’s explore what types of Indonesian handbags are available and how to choose the right one for you.

Look for Practicality

Before falling in love with a certain design, be sure the handbag will meet your everyday needs. Do you need the handbag for work or play? Do you plan on using it every day or only for special evenings out on the town? Also, consider how many items you will need to carry in the handbag. Handmade handbags come in a variety of sizes and shapes. They range from petite to very large travel handbags. Some come with shoulder straps while others have hand straps. There are even very small make-up carriers for trips. It depends on how and where you plan to use it.

Choosing a Design and Color for Your Handmade Handbag

Handmade handbags come with a variety of styles and designs. Embroidery is used to create unique patterns such as diamonds, curved lines, circles, stars, and floral patterns. Indonesian handbags are often creatively labeled to express the type of design and color on the handbag. The words gift, live, great, eternal, recover, morning, believe, and so forth reflect the personality behind the purse as well as the style and color. Choose a style that matches several of your outfits, or that blends well with your body shape and hairstyle or color.

For spring and summer, there are colors such as red, cream, light blue, or olive. For fall and winter, colors such as black, dark brown, dark blue, and silver are excellent choices.

Help those in Need with Charity Bags

Another option to consider when buying an Indonesian handmade handbag is to shop for charity bags (or charity purses). Charity bags are made by those in Indonesia who need the money for daily food and supplies. Some companies in the United States offer to buy the handbags and resell them to Americans or through the Internet. A few companies will even train the workers and provide sewing and embroidery supplies to work with. One such company is Laga Handbags (online), which helps women who were survivors of the tragic tsunami of 2006 in Sumatra, Indonesia. The women workers of Indonesia are able to learn skills for a lifetime while providing a valuable service to handbag lovers.

When choosing a company for handmade handbags, research online to find companies that offer authentic Indonesian handbags, not replicas. The real handmade handbags are usually priced from $35 up to $150, depending on the style and size of the bag. Companies should provide detailed information about how and where the handbags are obtained, and where the company is located. Look for companies that are up-front about their procedures and customer policies.

A handmade handbag from Indonesia can also be a memorable surprise as a gift for Mother’s Day, Christmas, birthdays, or other occasions. The handbags are reliable and affordable, and the remarkable craftsmanship of Indonesian women makes them highly desirable in the fashion world. Go online today to find that perfect handmade handbag for you!

Looking your best is not all about buying expensive clothes. If you want to look stylish, think about accessories. Women’s accessories can help you can reflect your personality and preferences without being outlandish.

Accessories can be great for defining your good points and minimizing the less favorable ones. They also can help you look more fashionable even without wearing fad or trendy clothing. Women’s garments can be accessorized with jewelry accessories, a scarf, a purse, a belt, gloves, and women’s shoes. All these items combined can make your outfits look charming and complete.

Tips for Women’s Accessories

Choose accessories that coordinate with the fabric, colors, and textures of your clothing. Find accessories for women’s clothes that will work with more than one outfit to stretch your budget. For instance, look for neutral-colored items such as hats, scarves, handbags, gloves, and jewelry so you can wear these with a number of outfits. Colors that usually go great with a variety of patterns include plain tan, white, blue, green, red, and black.

With basic womens accessories, try to follow the fashion trends. Look through fashion magazines to see what is trendy for the season and change your accessories as needed. You can great ideas on how to combine colors, fabrics, and patterns for a great outfit. Keep in mind that many fashion magazines go to the extreme when it comes to trendy womens clothing and accessories. There are some womens garments displayed in magazines that you would never dare to wear. So, choose those that you feel will look great on you for the occasion, and leave the others to the fashion models!

You might also be able to use your jewelry, shoes, or belts with different ensembles after you get some new ideas. Many clothing items for women can be interchanged with other pieces to create multiple outfits. So you might wear one shirt with two different skirts or one skirt with several different shirts. Then switch around your accessories to match.

Accessorize with Jewelry

Make sure your jewelry complements your clothing’s neckline. If you were wearing an open v-neck blouse or sweater, then a lovely necklace would complete it. If you have a detailed neckline with fancy trim or stitching, try wearing a nice bracelet and eye-catching earrings.

If you have a complex necklace and bracelet set, wear it with something simple. A long necklace will draw the focus away from your neck and face if that’s your goal. Avoid wearing earrings that bring all the attention to your ears; they should complete your outfit but not overpower it. A fancy or detailed handbag should be used with a simple, single colored outfit.

Be Trendy and Fashionable

Be sure to wear a variety of accessories; don’t wear the same necklace with every outfit or the same scarf with every suit. Mix and match your accessories so your outfits will always be appealing and interesting.

Women’s accessories can be fun to pick out and wear once you know how to shop. If you want a new look or need help getting started, pick up some women’s magazines to discover what looks good with what and find the styles that you like. Then go through your closet and put together a new wardrobe with dazzling women’s accessories to match. Use these accessory ideas to look your best every day!

Even in this modern age, most societies still delineate among social classes through clothing. Unlike the days of the Roman Empire when only high-ranking government officials could wear mauve, there are no longer laws dictating what kinds of clothing people can wear. Social delineation through clothing is more discreet though still prevalent. For example, because of the high prices of designer clothes and accessories, only the well to do can afford to wear them.
Of course, clothing still shows very clearly what the occupation of a certain individual is. People working in the medical profession wear certain garb that set them apart from people working as firemen, police officers or soldiers, for example. Pastors, priests and other members of religious order also wear distinct uniforms, as do some students in formal schools.
More interestingly, clothing is also used to express marital status and sexuality. Some married women stay away from very revealing outfits. Though this is not a hard and fast rule in the Western world, it certainly applies to married Indian women who wear special hair accessories to indicate they are married (just as the rest of world wear wedding rings). As a general rule, single people looking for partners wear more revealing outfit to signify their intent to attract a potential partner.

Though women often dread pulling on hosiery, struggling to make them fit and feel comfortable throughout the day, the hosiery industry today aims to make something for everyone. They aim to achieve this goal by using many different fabrics and combining different fabrics to create the desired results.

Standing in front of a hosiery rack at the store can be quite intimidating if you havent bought hosiery in a while. There are so many different brands, each with their own variations made with the latest fabric. They are made to control, contour, hide, soften and protect your shape. They also strive to provide comfort. Each of the different fabrics provides a different effect

Cotton

Cotton is the ultimate in comfort. It is soft and is derived from a plant. It is versatile and long lasting. By adding cotton to a bend of fabrics to make hosiery, it is possible to make it comfortable for everyday wear.

Wool

Made from animal hair, wool is warm, attractive and keeps its shape. Wool is perfect for cooler weather conditions. It keeps the moisture away from your skin. It also gives a more distinguished look. Used in combination with several other materials it can achieve the desired effect of wearing hosiery.

Silk

The nice thing about silk is that it adjusts to your body temperature. It is able to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so it can be worn year round. It is a fine, natural fiber that provides luxurious comfort. It feels good to the touch and lies nicely. It is not a versatile fabric though. Several fabrics should be blended with silk for a good pair of hosiery.

Nylon

Nylon is one of the most popular fabrics used for hosiery because it recovers its shape due to its elasticity. No matter how far the material is stretched, it goes back to its original size and shape. It is smooth, tough and strong. It is a versatile fabric that is perfect for all day wear.

Spandex

Spandex is gaining popularity in products like hosiery. It is elastic, strong and durable. It hugs the body a little closer than some of the different kinds of fabric. Hosiery products are often a combination of nylon and spandex.

Polyester

For wrinkle resistant hosiery, a polyester blend is the way to go. It is light and weather- resistant, as well.

Lycra

Also referred to as spandex, this fabric is added to hosiery because it is able to bounce back, therefore also providing the hugging sensation over your legs and having the ability to contour possible problem areas such as the tummy and thighs.

Finding the right blend of fabrics to meet your needs may be the key to finding comfortable hosiery that you can feel confident in all through your day. The right hosiery can also provide health benefits by reducing leg pain and decreasing your chances of getting painful and unsightly varicose veins.

As trends continue to change in the hosiery industry and they struggle to keep their spot in the marketplace, Im sure we will see new blends of fabric that will provide other desired effects.

Believe it or not socks have been around since the stone ages. They were very different from socks as we know them today. They were often made of animal skins that were tied around the ankles.

In Ancient Egypt there is evidence of the existence of knitted socks and by the 8th century BC, the Greek poet Hesiod wrote of paloi – socks made of matted animal hair. They were mostly worn by actors in comedic plays.

During the Middle Ages colored cloth tied around the legs and held up with garters were in popular use. Garters were placed over the top of the sock/stocking to prevent them from falling down. They were mostly worn among the more wealthy.

In the 1490s, breeches and hosiery were one piece. They later became known as tights. They were made of colorful silks, wools and velvet. Each leg was often a different color. At the turn of the fifteenth century knitted hose was being worn in France and Scotland.

In the 1590s knitting machines were created. This made the use of knitted hose more common. With the wearing of tunics hose had to be made longer.

In the 17th century the use of cotton became popular in the making of socks. Early Americans also used wool and silk. Poorer people wore woolen hose usually tan in color. The rich on the other hand wore fine silk hosiery and more colors.

During the 19th century knitting mills allowed hose to be made in America. As mens pants became longer stockings became shorter until the term was changed to sock and replaced the term stocking. The word sock is derived from the Latin word soccus which means light covering of the foot. Women to date wear stockings, tights, or socks.

Long time back, neck tie evolved as a direct result of war. In 1660, a regiment from Croatia visited Paris. The soldiers were presented to Louis XIV, a monarch. At that time, the officers of the regiment had worn bright colored fashion handkerchiefs around their neck. These neck cloths which descended from the Roman fascalia worn by orators to warm their vocal chords were soon made sign of royalty as the king made regiment of royal corvettes.

Later, this style crossed to the channel of England and no soon the gentleman found their dressing more decorative with some sort of cloth around their neck. These neck cloths or cravats were worn so that the man could not move his head without turning his whole body. Sometimes these were worn so tight that they stopped sword thrust. Again, neck tie styles knew no bound with scarfs, tuffs and bows.

Ties became an integral part of a mans wardrobe and till the time of civil war ties were imported from the continent. In the beginning of 20th century, American neckwear began to rival that of Europe. In 1960s, however, there was a declination of men wearing ties because of conflict in between tradition and formality of dress. But, in 1970,s the sale of neck tie increased to a great extent.

No other thing in the wardrobe of a man has changed as compared to neck ties. In 1960s and early 70s ties grew 5 inches in width and then fat ties came into fashion. The proper width of a neck tie that would never be out of style is 3 inches. As long as the proportion of mens clothing remains true to his body shape, this width will be in proper balance. Many neck ties are cut in width but the section of the tie where knot is made remained thick although.

The relationship of tie knot to the collar of the shirt is considerable and if it is proper then the knot will never be too large so that the collar opens or it is so small that it is lost in the collar.
